A collection of data related to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) for the State of Alaska. The following datasets are included in this service;
1. NFIP program participation, floodplain coordinator, and FIRM date contacts by community. 2. Digital Floodplain Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMs) for all NFIP communities in Alaska statewide. The original data was obtained from the FEMA flood map service center (https://msc.fema.gov/portal/home) and synthesized into a statewide data layer. 3. Paper FIRMs digitized by DCRA staff. These represent the first digitization of the paper FIRM products offered by FEMA. This was done for a selection of NFIP communities without digital data available from FEMA. |
